I started coding when I was younger on QBasic and was amazed at how the program worked. It wasn't until college that I knew I wanted to be a web developer. I went from knowing very little about HTML and CSS to learning the entire LAMP stack in just a few years. Today, I focus my time enterprise app development and open-source software.
Currently, I am the lead product developer at the global public relations company, Weber Shandwick. I design and develop enterprise-level web applications using proprietary and open-source software. I also specialize in WordPress plugin development and integration.
In addition to my work at Weber Shandwick, I am also an author on the industry blog Smashing Magazine.
Everyone had to start somewhere. I started my developer journey at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. While there I learned several disciplines including: Web design and development, audio and video production, 3D animation, print design, motion graphics and game development. I graduated in the top of my class and received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Digital Media.
When I'm not pounding away on a keyboard somewhere you might find me playing one of my dozen-or-so guitars, snapping pictures on my camera, or playing a video game in a dimly lit room.
I also love camping, hiking and traveling the world with my new wife Kayte and our english bulldog Oswald.
